Flavio Di Giacomo has been Manager of Communication and spokesman of the Coordination Office for the Mediterranean at the International Organisation for Migration (IOM), the UN Migration Agency, for over ten years. He manages contacts with the major newspapers, both in Italy and abroad, and he closely follows migration issues with regard to arrivals from the sea (including very frequent missions at the places of disembarkation) and to integration.    Over the years he managed the launch of several communication campaigns on migration. In past years he also worked for NGOs in this sector. Before starting a career in the non-for-profit sector, he worked many years in the private sector in the UK and France. He graduated in Political Sciences, specialising in International Relationships, from the La Sapienza University in Rome.
